Because I think the one in my car is leaking because two weeks ago we filled it up (because it was HOT) and then it was almost all gone when we checked it today... something's definitely wrong!

Sorry I didn't understand your question the first time. This could be a serious problem for your car, so read these carefully.

You need to find out where the antifreeze is going. If it's leaking onto the ground that's actually better than the next problem i will describe. If it's a leak onto the ground, then it's the radiator, or hoses, or something relatively cheap and easy to fix.

If the antifreeze is just "disappearing", it could be going into the engine block through a leaking head gasket, or a cracked head. Both of these are unfortunately expensive, but must be repaired sooner rather than later. Getting antifreeze in with the oil in the engine can damage it beyond repair if you keep driving it.

you have a leak for sure it does not evaporate that fast, it would take months.. get a flashlight and run motor warm and check it out all over. if it is a new car or whatever read your manual for what to use it may be dexcool, 50/50, or reg antifreeze. it will tell you usually on the shock panel in the engine compartment or on the cap. and in the manual as well. dexcool is good for 100k-150k miles if use the right make product.

stay cool!

1or 2 years is typical even for the long life stuff. They recomend a flush and fill every 2 years to remove sediment from the radiator but if the fluid is disappearing it is nat a problem with the anti-freeze, you have a leak some where.

1 to 2 years for regular stuff, 5 years for long life stuff. Antifreeze should be checked for strength an acidity yearly.

Sounds like you have a "Leak" in your system. Nothing wrong
with the anti-freeze. Anti-freeze should last 2-3 years.

seem like you have leak in your cooling system, better check it out. in the meain time when you add antifreeze again add some "stop leak" type product, you can get it at any autoparts store (it may stop the leak)
