Windsheild wipers?

my windsheild wipers made a big clunck sound and then stopped working. What is wrong. It is snowing out, but i can move them manually, so i dont think the are frozen

actually sounds like your wiper transmission has come disconnected from the wiper motor, turn the wiper switch on and see if you can hear it running. if you cant then it could be the wiper motor but when you said big thunk it might have broken the trans, not an expensive fix either, just hard because of location

It sounds like your wiper motor may have gone bad. These aren't that expensive to replace.
