Tie rod ends are a major saftey issue if you dont get it corrected it can cause even damage then you want to pay for im sure depending on what kind of car the tie rod shouldnt cost more then 35 for the part. and for an auto shop to do it would take a half an hour or so
then you need a front end alignment

if you dont trust your mechanic go to someone else for a second opinion

If you do not trust him why do you go there? Tie rod ends are what attach to the wheel so you can turn the car. If they wear out you can lose control of the car. Also worn tie rods can lead to tire wear, which means then not only do you need tie rods you need tires.

Find a tech you can trust. Ask friends who they use, call around and ask other shops what they think.

Big time safety issue. If it breaks, you loose steering altogether. Look for another mechanic.

if your tir rod end snaps, your wheels lean out, loose all steering control and run a huge possibility of flipping your vehicle if you are going faster than 50. PLEASE get them changed fast.
