my drivers side mirror was broken off my 05 dodge magnum SE.
i just purchased a oem replacement today. the dealership was trying to charge me $90. he said it will take 1 1/2 hours. i thought that was kind of steep so...
my question is, do you think i would be able to install this myself?
any websites that can help me? my dad has a good amount of various tools i can use. any special ones?
if not, do i take it to a mechanic or body shop?
its a regular mirror with the electronic controls that can position it, its one simple connector..it is also not a heated mirror. Thanks.

Also, could my mechanic have damaged it (accidentally or on purpose) when replacing my blower motor? And, how long would it take me to replace my heater core?

The hood release has been wearing out. Now it has finally given up, and will not release. I have looked in and under the grill, but I can't see a cable anywhere.
And to top it off, my battery is dead, so I can't take it to a shop.
Thanks!

i was debating between a probe gt and a '90 accord, i like both their styling but for some reason, the accord looks better, i got no clue how, but i cant deal with a 4 cyl, so i was wondering if i could succesfully swap a honda 4 cyl to a mazda klze 6 cyl, and would i have to change the tranny, and um would it work?

With all the advances in car technology these last 30 years, why does the slightest knock (like from someone opening the door of the car parked next to it) or scrape from a bramble bush result in such an expensive repair job? Can car bodies not be made tougher, or is it just a racket for the car industry?

I just took my 2000 F-150 into Meineke to have the tires aligned and they informed me that my idler arm and ball joints need replaced. They said this would cost $550. Is this something that needs replacing immediately or should I just let it go? What are the ramifications? What is a good price for getting this work done? $550 sounds expensive to me.
Thanks!

It has the sun damage only on the top of the SUV and a little over half of the paint is gone. My question is if I should use fine grit sandpaper and remove the rest of the top coat of paint and then spraypaint the top with automotive paint when I'm finished.

Last week I had my serpentine belt replaced for a 1999 Olds Alero to fix a squealing problem at an oil lube place. Well, turns out the squealing was still there after they replaced the belt, so I figured it was either my tensioner or a bad pully and took it to a GM dealer to get it fixed. After paying $120 to have my tensioner replaced and an idler tested, my belt is still squealing when I accelerate. The Dealership service dept told me to that it was obviously my belt that needed to be replaced, you know, the one I bought last week. They said that whoever put my serpentine belt on put an aftermarket belt on and that that could be the reason why it has already gone bad.Should I take my car back to the oil lube place that put my belt on and demand they give me my money back?
