Your not too clear on the problem, but I'll give it a try. Remove both battery cables from the battery. Clean the cable ends and the posts/terminals on the battery with sand paper, steel wool and a wire brush until you have nothing but nice, shiny lead showing. Apply a thin film of grease (or petroleum jelly) to all the cleaned surfaces inside and out. Reattach both cables and tighten securely with a wrench. If possible, remove the top covers on the battery exposing the six ''cells''. Add distilled water to cover the lead and zinc plates. Bring the water level to within a half inch of the opening, but don't overfill. Replace the covers and you should be good to go. If you encounter the same symptoms after this it's time for a new battery. Go to Wal Mart and 45 dollars later you are, again, good to go!

Winter often finishes off a tired battery. Worth getting an auto-electrician to check your system first, to make sure the alternator's doing what it should etc., but by the sound of it a new battery should do the trick.

i presume this car is petrol! you need to check the basics, maybe invest in a Haynes manual.so many factors to think about. maybe try a new battery, check the alternator is charging above 14Volts,check there is no drain on the battery like a light left on,on older cars the ignition coil could fail and drain battery power. hope this helps.

sounds like you have an electrical short drawing your battery down pull your negative post off batt. take a test light and clip it on the neg wire and test light to neg. side of batt. if light lights up you have a electrical short . to narrow it down pull a fuse one at a time and see if light goes out or maybe some light is left on you might have to go as far as disconnecting the wires to the alternator or etc. first make sure its not just time for a new battery
