I have Accord 2002 model (Automatic). Whats its idle rpm should be? i feel its less. It shows me around 750. I feel slight vibration in car when i put in Drive from Neutral without leaving the brake. When i leave brake vibration reduces little bit and when i accelarate then no vibiration.

Secondly i get strange knocking sound like when we bolt the door (at lot lower volume) or when we hit some small aluminum piece over big piece. I get this noise when i shift in Reverse from Neutral and it comes back when i go Neutral to Reverse too. It doesnt come in any other D gear options. Its very fast and very little noise i get everytime i shift to Reverse.

Can anyone please answer these two questions. Thanks in advance and Wish you very Happy New Year. Have Fun. Cheers.

Blower switch works fine. The switch to shift heat from floor to defrost to panel works okay. It appears that the middle switch is not shifting from heat to cold. Any ideas?

I've also installed a new filter. My check engine soon light is not working. Could that hold clues to some other problem?

The trans makes a whining noise after you get up to around 35 mph. It does it in high all of the time. What might it be, and is it a major problem? It works perfectly except for the noise. It is lock up converter type trans, a 4 speed. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

My Honda Accord 2002 used to have normal temperature upto 35% (exact at all times), But these days from past week it fluctuates from 35% to 70%. If i drive fast its normal with or without ac. But if i drive slow in traffic it start rising upto 50% - 60% and if at that time i turn AC on or put in neutral and give extra race (throttle) then it come back to normal. Else it shoots upto 70% to 75% and then automatically start coming down to normal after 15-20sec of staying there.

Checked my battery: its fine as per the meter at the workshop and it starts in single self in morning. Radiator has coolant and its bottle also have enough coolant which i recently filled with original Honda coolant, No leakage of coolant from anywhere. Both fans of radiator working fine and cut off also auto. Both the radiator (In n out) hoses has roughly the same temperature, but sometime varies when i switch it off. Its one of the weird problem i have seen. Please advise me that what could be the problem

I went to start my jeep that i purchased in august. It is a 95 YJ. I pulled it out of the parking spot fine and drove it to the front of my house. When i got back in to leave, I couldnt get it to go into 1st gear... I read the manual, it says when cold it may be hard to put into gear... let it run for a while. I let it run for a very long time and only sometimes it would go into gear. Could there be water in my tranny? Or is there something else...??? (clutch is fine).

had a bit of a prang and need to get a bumper sprayed up the right colour! i know the colour is called moondust silver but i need the code. the car is 1997(R) and is one of the rarer 'chicane' models, hence i have been unable to find out the paint code. i have looked at the VIN plate but i can't make sense of it. if anyone could tell me, or even explain how to read the VIN plate on my car then that would be much appreciated! ta.

I've got a 1998 s reg mark 4 golf. Water hasn't been spraying from the rear washer since the day i bought the car! (Its been about 7 months now). I've removed the cover and had a look at the water pipe. The connection is fine and there is no sign of leaking water. The front washers work fine so what could be causing this problem?
Thanks.

When i jump started it with the battery charger, it made a spark on the 2nd try, right on the battery post. All fuses check ok, and ive since put a new battery in it. It's a 1992 Honda Civic EX 1.6L
I checked the voltages of the wires giong to the igniter and the coil they are ok. I had the igniter tested (ignition module) tested fine, checked the resistances on the coil, they are fine, cap clean and dry no cracks, rotor new, fuel pump kicks on, MIL (check engine light) operates fine, pulled spark plug out set it on block and cranked it, no spark. any ideas?

A Toyota dealership told me that the noise overriding my engine noise and the result of my car skipping was my intake manifold and serpentine belt were broken. My questions:

* Should I trust what my mechanic is saying

* What if I don't get these two parts replaced? Will it damage my car further?

* Any idea on how much this should cost?

Thanks,

They're brand new, is it the tread? My 2001 Alero sounds like a race car and the noise is very annoying. Also, unrelated, what could a vibration under floor of the gas/brake petals be? Drive shaft?
