well its a 97 pontiac sunfire it getting damaged on the sides were rain has got i he cracks of the clear coat could i buy some automobile spray paint and some spray paint clear coat?? to fix it at all??
help its gettnig worse

i own a shop,and anything from a spray can will just mess it up,,you,ll need to have it re-sprayed at a shop,where it will hold up good ,its just age getting to it,and also the environment where you live may have a lot to do with it also,but a spray can wont last good on it ,good luck hope this help,s.happy new years.

I paint cars, and have that problem with a couple of them right now. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do short of a repaint that is going to make it look better. You can keep it from peeling back further by putting clear nail polish on the edges, but you are going to have to deal with seeing the nail polish. If it isn't too terribly bad, you can wet sand the clear edges with 1500 grit paper and then clear coat over that if the paint underneath isn't damaged. That will at least save from having to base it too. Good luck!

Ours was chipping off on the trunk lid. I talked to a body shop owner and he said he couldn't blend in clearcoat and make it look decent. He would have to do the whole trunk lid.

Auto body shop can repair. Mine is chipping off too.
