I have some build-up and want to clean it off. I have heard baking soda with water and use a toothbrush. Is that ok or do you have any other (sensible) ideas? Thanks! ♥

baking soda will work well,be care full and don't get it on you though,it will burn, and eat right through your cloths also but that will work fine to clean them off,you can also take the cable off of it,and use a small wire brush on it,,then use a little grease on it when you put it back on,,this will stop it from doing this again good luck hope this help,s.happy new years

Pour a baking soda and water mix over it slowly - stopping and letting it dissolve it away as you do. It's very fast and easy.

You can also use white vinegar and accomplish the same thing. Afterward, coat the terminals with a light grease.

Baking Soda and vinegar or water and the toothbrush. Preferably an old one. Good job.

An old nailbrush works well. Anything with good, stiff bristles should clean them up.

Put some vaseline on the terminals afterwards, it'll help stop it happening again.

yes that is what you use. then when your done take some spray paint and lightly cover the terminals. that way it doesn't happen again.
