How much does it cost to install a new ignition w/ new keys? There is a car being sold at an auction but it does not have keys.

All you have to do is take the title in to the dealership to show proof of ownership. Then the can input the VIN number into the computer and cut you a new set of keys. You don't need to change the cylinder.

You have not specified what type of vehicle this is so it is pretty hard to say how much. If the car is fairly new, it will probably cost quite a lot of money as there will be anti-theft equipment on the car which has to be addressed. There is quite a bit of labour involved in replacing ignition cylinders in steering columns or in dashboards as this is the first line of defence for theft. The electronic parts of the theft deterrents will have to be addressed after the actual replacement of the cylinder. Hope that helps.

Check first with the manufacturers dealer, in most cases if you have the right information the dealer can punch out a new key.

Varies greatly from car to car. But prob lookin around $450 if it is a basic American or japanese car.
