2000 Buick Park Avenue?

Car is hard to start sometimes and occasionally back spits.Sometimes after this smoke comes out from hood.I also smell gas after we start out.What should i look for?

Is the check engine lite on ?? How does the car operate after it warms up ?? any missing or stalling or acceleration problems ?? Does it idle smooth ?? Need some info. to find a problem.

Check your timing (you will require a scanner). This sounds like a PCM or input sensor problem.
