While driving today in the night, I noticed that the light on the LED
of the digital clock and the light of the LCD panel of the Car radio
were very dim (almost no light). The car head lights were fine. Is this
the beginning of a battery Problem or is this the beginning of an Alternator problem ? I haven't seen that scary red light yet on the
dash board. Please help ........

it certainly relies upon on how previous Your battery is, is there any electric issues which would be draining your battery. From what you have reported, i'm useful its the battery because of the fact if it is the alternator, each and every thing would be lifeless. I propose no lighting fixtures furniture interior the tool panel, no chimes once you turn Your key. yet merely to make certain, have a mechanic do a battery examine on an identical time as the engine is working. The attempt would be sure additionally in the experience that your alternator is producing sufficient voltage to potential the full automobile's electric needs.

You can try this test:
Turn on your automobile's cabin light (or map light if you don't have a cabin light) and then turn on the ignition. If the map light or cabin light goes out or dark, then your battery may be close to dying. If it just slightly flickers, your battery is probably still okay. If you're still not comfortable, you can bring your automobile to the nearest service station and ask the attendant to test your battery's condition with the equipment they should have there.

you might want to check the battery cables before you suspect the alternator of being the problem,,and like the other answer said,,look at the dimmer switch for the dash lights they might just be cut down some,,but if it does start giving problems,,you can take it by any auto zone,or advance auto parts, and they will check it free of charge for you ,they can tell you whether or not its the battery or the alternator on it going bad.,this way you,ll know for sure before you start spending any money on it,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,and have a happy new years.

If your radio LCD stays on after your car has been shut off .Say it`s still on 10-minutes later,Your clock/LCD in the radio is probably going to ground. If it starts getting hard to start,checkDC-voltage with car running.Voltage should be 13.5-15.5 volts. If not Replace. If the Radio is Causeing your battery to go dead, pull the fuse for the radio until you can have it repaired.A short to ground will ruin your battery and you may have to replaceit.

it can be either or the battery or the alternator if you want to know just turn youre car on and while it's on take the positive cable off the battery if youre car turns off that is a difictive alternator but if it does not turn off then it's the battery

check the GROUND on you radio
I do not think it is you battery or alternator, your vehicle lights would have been dim more than the LED lights int he radio which take very little energy to light up...so it could be the ground on your radio or the LEDs are dieing in your radio...
check the plug that plugs the radio in for corrosion and check the ground wire too. clean them both and see how it is..

good luck
