Yes we need to know make, model, year, type of engine, and if you if it has a distributor or coil packs.

It depends on the tach. They can connect to the coil trigger, a sensor on a spark plug wire or a crank position sensor. You just have to find the one you want and read the directions. Just make sure it's compatible with your type of ignition and the number of cylinders you have.

red = 12 volt.
white = dash lites
green = coil neg.
black=ground
On the back should be a switch for 4=6=8 cyl.
