Had the same problem with my 2006 Grand Am (along with many other problems) In the one (1) year I had the car (I purchased new) it was in the shop for 7 out of 12 months because of this problem and would even stall out at times but would restart ok... Pontiac only said that they could find nothing wrong with the car. But I had heard of many others having the same problems....I got rid of it and bought a Subaru....Look ahead, never back :)

You have a bad ground wire between the engine and the chassis. When the brake lights pull current, the voltage on the chassis relative to the negative battery post actually goes up a volt or two.

Hmmm, once you blast music... i'm guessing you have had a potential amp put in the vehicle. it relatively is taking extra potential to run that the vehicle can furnish and the battery isn't charging up. additionally at this element, the alternator could be broken with the aid of overwork. in case you like one thousand watts out of an amp, you're able to desire to place one thousand watts in it. A kilowatt does not come out of the clean blue sky.

i am not sure how to fix this but i would guess that the head lights r dimming becouse when u hit the brakes the brake lights come on and the brake system is working so they r pulling power from the battery. so try changing the battery

No they are not, I have a Pontiac 2001 Grand AM and this is why your headlights dim, in Pontiacs if you don't turn off everything that uses energy your battery runs out so this time change your battery.

Sounds like a loose ground wire, or alternator going bad.
