Neither the horn or cruise control work.

My Caravan is a V6 3.3. Checked electrical systems. No bad fuses, relays work (checked them on other devices). Problem appears to be in the steering column. Anyone know what I should check when I open it up?

I understand from reading other posts here that the clockspring may be the culprit. I believe that may explain the problem with the horn, but what about the cruise control. What all does the clockspring control?

The clock spring makes the electrical connections for all the controls that are on the steering wheel. Because the wheel turns, there needs to be a connector that will make continuous contact, and will not bind as would wires.

Most likely the problems you are experiencing are caused by a faulty clock spring!

Check each fuse under the hood and in the car and if the body control module is not working try going to a big do it yourself auto wreckers bec some might sell you that module for 30 to 50 bucks. Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way make sure the van you take the module out of has the same type of engine and the exact same features your van has.

most likly a bad "clockspring" for air bag system in steering colum. [could be covered by a safety recall] by manufacture.

There was a recall on the rotary switch in the steering wheel. That will fix it...the dealer should fix it for free. Good luck.

IF your going to try and tackle this yourself be careful if it has an airbag. get a book and make sure you do it right. or you may set it off.
