I was given a $220.00 estimate to have my flasher replaced at the dealer and found out I could do it myself but don't really know where to start and if it's easy enough to do. I have already picked up the part needed for the work from and auto parts place but need to figure out how to get to the area I need to replace it.

I need to get a flange tool to make a french lap for welding a section of quarter panel in. I have no interest in buying a $300 tool as this is a one time deal. I was told there are cheap ones that look like vise grips, yet I can't find anything like it. Any ideas where to get one and what they are "officially" called? Are they adjustable for various steel thicknesses? A search for flange tools keeps showing an air tool, not these cheaper ones I was told of.

My fuel pump runs when the ingition is off. My oil gauge drops to 0 but when I pound on the dash it comes to normal. My transmission shifts to 1st gear at low speed re-acceleration and won't shift out. I have to turn off and restart engine and then it's fine, till next time. I've had the trans.shift sensor, the relay modual and inertial switch replaced, full tune, battery new, neg. battery term repaired. Problems persists.

I manage a fleet of semi-trucks, and I need a fast and efficient way to wash them. It normally takes 2 hours to wash one truck with a hose, spray nozzle, and brush. I need to know if there is a portable pressure washer out there that can clean a dirty truck without the need for scrubbing with a brush. This should reduce the wash time to less than half.

I have a 1999 Saturn SL2. Its starts off really bad, even dies frequently until warmed up. I can have the gas all the way down, barely stays alive, then engine roars, engine dies. Once its warmed up, not so much a problem. Turn it off for a few mins., return, dies alot again. i thought it might be a fuel filter, but I cant find one anywhere. Any suggestions?

The problem is that it will start, no problem, but after a few seconds it will either kangaroo hop madly or stall or just sound very throaty and that it is in danger of stalling. I had problems with the spare keys when I bought it, and someone suggested using the master key. I have used the master key and it did improve things - at least car did not stall. I have had both the cold start sensor and the lambda sensor replaced, all to no avail. This week, the alternator blew. The guy who came out to get it to the garage offered to programme the spare keys for me. I then used the spare once the new alternator was in - worked great for a bit - but on second journey the hopping was really bad. I went back to using the master key today and all right this morning but when journeying later (especially when car warm) hopping terrible. HELP!

I'm looking for some help on replacing the alternator on my 1993 Camry. It's a V6, if that makes a difference. I never changed an alternator this is new to me. I really don't feel like caughing up all that money to my mechanic when I can change it myself (and learn something new). I pretty much understand that its a bolt on piece. But how do I get the belt off and on? Do I have to put it back in a certain way? I'd appreciate any help anyone may have. Especially detailed step by step directions. If you've got pictures even better...I'll take it!!!! Thanks!

I have been told 2 conflicting answers to this question - my local Volkswagen garage has told me that it needs doing every 70,000 miles. However I spoke to a mechanic at a specialist VW garage and the guy said they don't really need changing till 100,000 miles, 70,000 is only really precautionary. Seeing as this will probably cost me £350 is it worth doing now considering I am probably going to sell the car when it has done 80-90,000 miles?

I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus. I want to put rims on it, but they would look horrible with the color that's on it now.

http://www.ricemotors.com/auto/DealerImages/car%20002.jpg

It seems impossible to find a color that would look good on this car. Im thinking about just selling it, or trading it in as a down payment on a 4WD truck since thats what I really want. Help?
