My car made a clicking noise but my thermometer read that nothing the car was cool so I continue to drive and the car. I felt a different in the acceleration then the car shut off. Do you think I drained the battery or ruined the engine? Also the car attempts to start.

Fuel door area received no damage before or after I popped it open with the release button so this is very puzzling for it to be ajar "out of the blue". No longer fits in door opening just barely.
