I am not for certain but I do not think it can be done. They are guttless wonders and I would you recomend that you buy a real car. They are more comonly called the Mercury Mistake.

Putting a v6 in it will cost about as much as buying another car with one already in it. inline 4's weren't designed for a lot of power, but fuel economy, so if you aren't having real problems, don't worry about it too much.
