Please help! I have a 99 Sunfire I bought a year ago. Day after it was picked up the engine blew. The engine and the rad were replaced. Now, 15 months later, the car is overheating. A rad flush and fill were done and the thermostat was changed, but still overheating. A cracked head gasket was found, so the decision was made to change the engine AGAIN. Still overheating. Rad was taken out, flushed and pressure tested, heater core was checked, another new thermostat was put in. I drove it approx. 30 km home, the temperature gauge did not go up, but there is no pressure in the rad hoses. Also, since the engine was changed, the air bag light is on all the time, and the headlight light flashes when they are not on. The mechanic said his diagnostic tool gave him an error code for the air bag that he had no reference to. Any suggestions besides a stick of dynamite?? lol

I have done a code search on my Mustang and it shows the same code each time. It codes 1443 which is the Idle air control valve. I have changed it 4 times, and it hasn't helped. I clear the codes and any where from immediately to 40 miles later it comes back on. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this. I just have a hard time believing that I have installed that many defective parts. I am hoping that someone out there has had the same problem or knows of someone who has.

the battery keeps dying meaning that there is a short somewhere. Would this cause the doors to lock themselves. I find that when the bettery dies, the two front doors lock up. Is there an easy way to get them open when this happens.

This is an addon to some engine info I forgot to put in the first question...sorry about that.Anyways my engine size is 3.1 L and in response to the 2nd person who answered me.The reason I want to replace it is because my check engine light comes on when coasting down a hill or letting off the gas at certain times...it's not on all the time ex: When I start my car it's not on just in that case it comes on,now I recently got a tuneup and he said that the reason it's doing that is cuz the valve is stuck open, now we have a parts 1991 Chevy Lumina with 3.1 L engine and me and my dad we're gonna replace mine with that one...How would I go about doing that in a step by step process.Where about's would it be located and what does it look like? Sorry for the missing info....I hope that this gives you a little more insight.

Thanks

What is wrong with my 96 ford taurus transmission?
when transmission gets hot, and i make a complete stop the transmission will not shift out. i have to tap on the brake pedal and it will jump back into gear. it shifts out fine until i stop again. could this be a sensor or is something internally wrong with the transmission? I just bought it a week ago, but the transmission is full of fluid, and the fluid doesn't seem to be burnt up!?

Okay, 3 part question.

1) Where do you recharge the AC on a 98 dodge neon?

2) What type of recharge kit should I get for it? (I saw one called "134a", or something like that).

3) How do I recharge the AC?

it's my buddy's '94 Chevy S-10 (manual)
He puts in transmission fluid, and it leaks out. It doesn't leak as fast as he puts in fluid, but it's dry in a matter of minutes.

Diagnosis and treatment would be appreciated!

are those Lucas spray cans really safe for your engine?

I ask because I one time used some throttle cleaner on an old car (94 Ford Escort) and it took the engine a few times to finally fire up.

My car was fine nothing major.Last Fri.my checkengine light went off. I dont know anything about cars, but thought it was my oil.I put 4 quarts oil in car. It was real low. Car drove fine. Today I am driving & was at a redlight (traffic backed up) & all sudden felt my car shaking like it was gonna die & yup it did. I turned car off than back on in drive. My car felt like I was driving 2 miles hour & was very hard to steer. I got it to gas station.Filled it up & tried starting car up.Car started up, but didnt drive. Few mins. later I was driveing fine. Like nothing ever happened. I was low on gas.I had about 1/8 tank. I have driven plenty times on below gas line.Im thinking I may need spark plugs? Any ideas on what could happened to my car? I have a 2000 dodge caravan. My check engine light is still on

What are some reasons possibly for this?

And I have no idea why. My car isn't making any odd noises and although I think it has a leak somewhere that causes me to have to refill anti-freeze every month, it has no serious problems. I'm talking about a Chevy Malibu here, an older one, like 8 years. However, my boyfriend drove off without the gas cap the other day and he said that his mechanic told him that the check engine lights in Malibus are super sensitve and will come on when there are excess fumes or something? Is there any truth to that and if so, do you think getting a new gascap would fix the problem? What does the check engine light usually signify? And do I need to worry about my car just breaking down on me?

I have a 94' Subaru Legacy AWD wagon. Every time it rains, I am getting water in the tank. This is regardless of how much gas is in the tank. Even when the tank is mostly full, I will get water in it. I'll add the dry gas stuff and it is fine until it rains again. This issue has gotten progressively worse now to the point that I keep gas treatment in my car and fill up my tank all the time to keep the tank full. I checked the gas cap, and it is holding a good seal. How could water be getting in? I don't think condensation is the issue.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
