It really depends on what your looking for from a tire. It also depends on how and where you drive. Each manufacture has its "quirks" Michellin will usually give you a quiter and softer ride but will not last as long. Firestone usualy will give you a basic all around performance and not be real good in any one area. Pathfinder is a off brand and if you look close you can see who really makes it. Sometimes a tire is made by the big boys and branded what is called private label. If you go to any decent tire shop and tell them how you are driving, how many miles a year you drive and what kind of roads you drive on they can recomend a tire. remember the ratings of tred wear, temperature and traction. AA being the best. If you run on interstates in Arizona in July you will want a A rated tire for temp. If you run on rough off roads you will want A on tred wear. If you run in the rain forest you will want AA in traction. The best you can hope for is the highest rating in all three for the lowest cost per mile operating cost.

Is there a Discount Tire around you. Then you can have Life Time Tires. lol Buy them with the warranty and buy the best. So if they are 80,000 then at 60,000 run over something, like a jack stand or something. Then you just pay $12.50 for the new tire.
But as far as brand, I like the pathfinder. You see some tires like Michellin are A rated. They are more expensive. What these are good for are if you are in Germany driving a 100 mph. You need a tire that can handle the heat. But people want the expensive tires anyway. What I do is see what they have for rough terrain, if you plan to do so 4 wheeling. Then it is just a matter what you can afford.
Shop around where ever you go as some places will price match. The small places are good prices at times, but then when you want to get something fixed and you are in another city , where are they. That is what I like about Discount here in Texas. I had a flat 500 miles away from San Antonio. There was a discount nearby and got a brand new tire replacement. So any tire will nearly do, but it is where to buy it at that is more important.
I got the pathfinder for my Ford Explorer. Just cause they were the cheapest and on sale.

Had to give you a thumbs up "liracer" He posted some good info. for you to follow. I personally have used all these name brands of tires. Some with good results, some not so good, but then again, depends on what you drive, how you drive, and the conditions you drive in. I am on a new set right now. I drive a full size truck and wanted some truck tires for a change. I use Toyo - Open Countries now, they have been on my truck for 1/2 a year now, and the tread still looks new! I drive almost 200 miles a day. From South San Antonio, TX to North Austin, TX for work. They are great truck tires, and the ride is pretty good from the experiences of all the other name brand tires that I've used in the past. Although due to the tread size, they do make a hum while on the road. If you are looking for a smoother ride, i'd recommend a passenger tire, not a truck tire, and the Michellin's I used before these worked just fine.

When I have a customer ask me this I rely on tire rack.com. I go there and look at a tire brand then read the user reviews I would take note of the reviews that use the tire on an expedition,
all dealers always have the best tires you know.
My personal preference is the Michelin Symetry, I have an Excursion and get 50-60 out of a set.

The best and probably most expensive tires in the world are Michelin, I run them on and they give the best quality ride. For you truck I would suggest LTX M/S and avoid what Uncle Red says about symmetry...those aren't michelins best.
Firestone make a good tire as well, not as expensive as Michelin but a good ride. I would avoid the Goodyears, I like to say Goodyears are good for about a year.
