the battery keeps dying meaning that there is a short somewhere. Would this cause the doors to lock themselves. I find that when the bettery dies, the two front doors lock up. Is there an easy way to get them open when this happens.

This is a 2 door model, I am unable to open both doorsby the inside and outside handles. the lock open switch can be moved to open on the inside and the doors will still not unlock. Is there some kind of anti theft program that would lock all doors when the battery is drained

You say lock up.
you mean you can't use a key?
I would guess buddy this is your drain. as you can't unlock because what is left of the battery is holding them locked. faulty lock switch, Hmmm on a 4 door huh?
I bet if you got a wiring diagram you will find a common point in the locking wiring for front and rear. the common point in the front will be your place to start. maybe the switch is bad. on one of the front doors.......
