Okay, this is possibly the STUPIDEST thing I ever did..Today I washed my car and used the rough side of a kitchen sponge to get rid of dirt/oil spots!!! AAUUGGH. Now it has little and big streaks/swirl scratches all over..even on my hood...I scratched the shiny clear coat off and since my car is silver, those spots now are just a lighter dull shade of grey..I have a '02 Honda-- does anyone know what I can use or do to get rid of it?

This is horrible it's so obvious in the sun!! I heard I could buff it out but how can I buff it out if the clear coat is gone..won't trying to buff it make it worse? Any suggestions would really help, I'm so p*ss*d off at myself I think I need a beer or a sedative! HELP!!!

i have a 1994 Polaris Sportsman 4x4 400cc 2 stroke. having raced motocross, i understand that 2 strokes smoke anyway. this is a lot of smoke!

it is white smoke, and i am pre-mixing the gas with oil (36-1). when i bought the ATV, the oil pump was shot, and it wasnt worth the 420 dollars plus tearing down to frame. the oil pump was stuck in the full-open position, so it fouled plugs about once an hour (better than the alternative i guess) the pump is disconnected.

now it still fouls plugs, but more like once every 4th trip. runs great at throttle, but once back to idle, lasts about 4 seconds and dies. starts back up fine. idle screw is pretty high, and responsive. what is going on?

Blew it out @ work, and it's dead in the back parking lot @ my office. How much will it be for me to get it repaired? And if anyone is in the Vancouver/Portland Metro Area and has a Shop that they would like to refer me to, that would be great too. Thanks in advance. :)

My truck makes noise when you get between 70 and 80 or when you are letting off the gas pedal to slow down a little. It is by far the worst at around 80mph. I have had gm look at it and they told me same thing as my mechanic. Which he has changed the pinion bearings, and it still makes the same noise. What else could it be?

I started my Neon today, and it started sounding like it was turning off and on, and the door ajar sound was going on and off, and all of my guages were jumping up and down, so I drove it around the block, hoping something might kick in or start working, and all the sudden the gauges all got stuck. My speedometer is stuck on 25 mph, and my RPMs are stuck on 2 1/2, and my gas gauge is stuck on half a tank... what could be the problem. I dont think it's engine problems, it starts up ok, everything else looks fine. My car only has 43,000 miles on it. What could it be and how quickly can it be fixed?

I have a 91 Mercury grand marquis I recently aquired. I was changing the oil today and I only got about two quarts when I drained it. The car is on a slight grade (hill) but it's almost level.
I was able to get another quart out of it by bouncing on the bumper, but the dipstick is still reading that it's about a quart low.
I added two quarts after putting the new filter on and it's reading that it's over full. I've been changing my own oil for about 16 years, and I've never had a problem draining it.

It's a stretch, but I almost think that someone replaced the dipstick with the wrong one, the part # on the dipstick is F1AE-6750-BA M but I can't find anything to reference it to. I'm going to call the dealer in the morning to verify it.

When the garage door is closing with the automatic closer, it shuts the door and then the door comes right back up. You have to press the button on the remote again to get it to stop, and then it stays in the open position about 6". Any ideas on how to fix? It all started about a week ago. The garage door would close then come up about 6" and quit. Pressing the button again would cause it to close then come right back up. Is there a reset button on most automatic openers? Help.

If you were buying a used car on a limited budget, would you look for a Honda or Toyota that had 200,000 miles on it vs. a domestic car that was a few years newer, and had half the miles on it ? Thanks for any input.

Is it a good idea to use a thicker viscosity oil on a High millage car? For example, lets say that the car manual suggest 5W30 oil, should I upgrade to a 5W40 or 10W40 just because the car has 75,000 or 100,000 miles on it? What are the advantages to using a thicker oil?

I have a 60 Gallon Oiled vertical compressor(Husky), and I'm having a problem.

Once the tank pressure reaches about 60 psi, there is a horrible loud 'scream' that begins, and only gets worse and louder as the PSI rises.

If I unplug the machine, the sound goes away, and the air pressure holds (means there's no air leaks, right?)

Could this be the electric motor? The Other 'oiled' motor?

Any help would be awesome, thanks

The two codes and my Check Engine light came on. I took it into a shop and they told me it was the catalytic convertor so they replaced it. I'm in the middle of the 50 mile 'driving cycle' before retesting and the Engine light came back on! What else can be wrong and how can I get the car to pass Emissions?!?

I ran my truck out of gas right at the pump and once it was fueled it would not fire.. if I held the gas pedal down it would start to catch but never fully fire.
I get the truck home, change the fuel filter thinking I just got something plugging it up, but with the new filter it does nothing. Any ideas other than fuel pump?? I don't see how running out of gas would trash my fuel pump.. any ideas?
