I just tried to drive my dads car over confident that it was easy. But come to find its not now we havea really steep drive way and i put it in reverse and then i couldnt get it back into whatever to make it back up the hill. And i only have my permit so i cant drive without him so is there anyway for a car to roll back without sticking a key in the transmission or is there a way that it coukd of rolled back from my doing but made it look like a accident?

theres no other mods in my car and it was working fine. the check engine light turned on quickly after i installed it. Im getting better mileage and much faster speeds so y is it jolting. it gets pretty scars because i think like gears may fall out. I got my chip from

Ok, I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 Liter Club Cab truck. It has 81,000 miles on it. It is also an automatic. For the past 1,000 miles or so, I've been able to feel a pretty strong kick when the automatic transmission shifts, like the truck kinda jerked a little or something when it shifted, but it still accelerated normal and felt completely normal except for that little jerk I felt when it shifted.

Also, whenever I would shift from Drive to Reverse, the truck would kinda jerk in the same manner, except I would be sitting still with the brakes on, so it would kinda jerk forward a little bit. Whenever I would back up somewhere, and then put it in park, once I let off the brakes, I could feel the truck roll back a little bit and jerk then too.

Now the problem is, it seems my truck is not like shifting at all, or it barely is, but something is really wrong. When I accelerate, everything will be fine up to 30 mph, but then it feels like I can't go any faster and it won't shift...

My daughter has a Ford Fiesta, the type with the rounded back. I was in it with her the other day and it didn't feel right at all. It was rocking and swaying on the front end especially at low speed. I have had the wheels off but can't find anything wrong which leads me to the suspension. What are the best checks hat I can do myself to see if it is the suspension beore I pay a garage a fortune to get it fixed. I have told her not to drive it until the problem is resolved.

i dont know jack about quads. my brother told me the pistons are f'ed up he was going to fix the quad but he moved to florida. so i need to replace the pistons so my dads going to buy a blaster pistons kit thing. but idk how to take the engine out or how to access the pistons.. i mean im sure i cud try to do it without any help but im sure it will end in disaster. please help me

I have a 1985 ford Ltd midsize stationwagon. I was getting into the car the other day, and accidently put my house keys on the dash . Somehow they dropped into the heater vent on the dash. I heard a noise and they were gone. I have tried putting a magnet down the vent to retrieve them. I dismanteled the dash, with no success. Where do you think they could be in the heating system on that car.?

It worked for a couple of days with the heater on, but now it doesn’t. Also you have to add more anti-freeze every 1-2 days. Since I don't see any visible leak then I am guessing that the problem is a blown head gasket or leak in the manifold, but I thought that manifold leaks would leak out of the engine, unlike a head gasket. But I also thought that when a head gasket blows you usually lose a lot of power. The check engine light came on and it said it was because of a miss fire in cylinder 3. So don’t' see how that is related to the overheating. So is there a good away to see if the head gasket is blown or not?

I have a '02 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, lately my cars transmission has had what I call the hiccups. Sometimes when I'm idle at a stop light the RPM's which usually idle at about 900 fall to about 200 very quickly then just up to about 1500. Also, sometimes when I accelerate the RPM's drop suddenly, which makes the cars practically stop. It usually happens between 2nd and 3rd gear. I've taken it to the shop for a "diagnostic" but of course they weren't able to recreate the problem. I was told I needed to wait until it got worse. I think it's a censor, but what the heck do I know. I'd love to get others who more versed in auto repairs opinions to give me some ideas... Thanks!

Mostly do short trips of 1 to 3 miles.

the oil looked ok, but felt some light grit at bottom of container that we dumped the old oil into.
(when we used regular oil, the level didn't drop at all, until 5000miles/1 year later (yeh, should have changed the regular oil sooner!)

OTHERWISE, how much oil should a 2002 car with 33,000 miles use (& no oil leaks visible)?

After the third time it has gone out this year, my front headlight doesn't work after we changed the bulb. The other times it had gone out all we did was change the bulb and it was fine, but now it won't work. We don't know what it can be. We checked the fuses and they all seem fine. I don't want to take it to a mechanic and pay money I don't have if it's something I can fix at home. Please help!!

P.S. It's a 1997 Nissan Sentra.

I just recently bought a Honda Prelude 92, and I wanted to put a big bore exhaust on it. It's an auto and one of my mates said that it's gay to put a big bore exhaust on auto.

So if I do install a big bore exhaust on my car will I look like a complete dick cuz it's not a manual??!!

I am planing to put solar panels to help lift some strain off the alternator and thus helping gas milage.

I know solar panel's contribution would be a fraction to what alternator does but it might show in the long run. also it will keep the battery charged longer.

I am thinking to connect directly to the battery or maybe to the lighter plug. which one is better? anything else I have to be carefull? Thanks

I am doing a transmission pan drop/filter change from Dexron III to Dexron VI. Since I only get about 50% of the fluid out I want to let it homogenize and then do a second fluid exchange to bring the total to around 75%. About how long will it take the fluid to mix together throughly? This is for an 02 gmc sonoma 4 speed auto.

i have a 1971 dodge demon with a 225 slant six in it and a 7 1/4 diff with 2.76 gears. i am putting in a 8 3/4 diff with 3.55 gears. is there anything i can do besides the diff (which i heard will give it a lot more power) to increase the power of the 6?
