I have a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer and was wondering if anyone knew how many gallons were left in the tank once the check gauge light comes on. The manual just says once it comes on you are either out of gas or almost out, big help.

I just got my car (1996 honda accord) serviced and they said i need a new battery and positive cable. They wanted to charge me $135 for the battery and $169 for the cable. I thought it was crazy so i didnt do it yet. what should i do?

When I start my car in the morning or periods where I have not driven it in awhile, I hear a tapping noise. It only lasts until I start driving. After driving for awhile, when I come to a stop I don't hear it anymore. Am I over reacting!

I just found out my radiator needs to be replaced for my Mitsu Galant 2001 due to coolant leaking. Do auto parts stores sell radiators (I saw some on eBay) and can I replace it myself?

my tail light/brake light is faulting. When my lights are off my tail light works but when i press the brake it all goes out. Only on the left side. when my lights are on my blinker wont even turn on back their and still when i press the break the whole tail light goes out. I've paid mech. to fix it but it works for a lil while then stops. how can i fix this myself? any website to learn from or any sugestions

I am a college student who wants to work on an lt1 engine... I will be buying one to put in my camaro... i want to completly take it apart and then rebuild it.. I would like to know what would be the best way to upgrade the engine... I want to bore it out and put a stroker kit on it.... heads and cam..... what else should i do and do you have and good hints...
It is a Lt1 94 camaro z28.. what i want to do is build the engine and then swap them out...

now i am considering to use proper screen washer fluid instead, after knowing that it's not recommended to use plain water as the proper fluid works better. now my question is: can i pour screen washer fluid into the tank as there is already fair amount of water left in the tank? if i mix them together, will it affect the way the car works?

I'm trying to pick out a decent wheel for my car but keep coming across wheels that are discounted and noted as hyper black.

All the pictures that are black show a black rim but the hyper black pictures looks silver. I don't want a black rim but the pictures of the hyper black rims look nice.

What do you have in your car incase you break down ?
I often travel with children in the back seats aswell.
All I have is a spare blanket.
Can you type a quick list of things I should buy incase I ever need them, not to bothered about cost.

The problem is, this is a 6 cylinder 2.5L pain in the butt engine. It looks like the alternator is tucked under the front (well, side) of the engine near the front of the car. I am able to remove the top bolt, but the bottom bolt is right up next to another pully.

I'm well over 100,000 miles and need to change the plugs. I put it off because I can't even get close to the driver side plug nearest the firewall. The middle plug on the same side is extremely difficult to get to also. What is the procedure to do this?

Any other things to do for a tune up on this beast?

Recently, the driver's seat belt broke in my 1995 Saab 900S, and yesterday the passenger side airbag went off while I was driving down a newly paved road @ 40 mph. I think these are product liability issues, not insurance or warranty issues. Seat belts mechanisms in a car like that are not supposed to just break, and certainly there is no excuse for an airbag spontaneously going off while driving, endangering my life.

Am I right? Do I have a case for them to fix these things without charging me?

When I indicate to turn left, they is no problem, when I indicate to turn right the green triangle shaped lights on my dash board flash every second and the sound is more paced. What is going on with them? How can I get them fixed or will it go away it self?

my compressor turns
i took it to a shop to get recharged and they did then said that the compressor didnt work. but it was new i had just bought it they charged me 110 and said it was still charged even though the compressor didnt turn on.
i look at the compressor and got it to turn on and found out that they had not charged it at all so i went back and they said it turned on but was not staying on.
does it need to be charged for the compressor to stay on. am i getting ripped off?

I installed a new battery after the old one died, but when I start the car the battery needle points to a very low setting, what should I do? I do not have any time nor money to bring it to the shop.
