A good battery is about $75 and a cable is around $25. You could install them both in 20 minutes.
That quote was so ridiculous that I'd suspect they might be lying to you about needing those things.

The new battery is about $80 at Autozone. The cable is less than $20. Very easy job. Disconnect the negative cable first (the ground cable) You will need some penetrating oil and metric wrenches (a small set 8mm to 14mm) 8, 10, 12, 14mm

a battry will cost you at a junk yard about $20- $30 an itll work just fine the positive cable will cost you $10-$20 at auto zone.but if you want to be sure thats what really wrong with it .then take it to auto zone an have them done a battry check on it then they tell you if you really need that stuff or not .and it wont cost you a thing because they do that stuff for free. and by the way what they told you about what it would cost you to have them do it is why to high.................also if your car is starting up and all the lights are woking the there probably nothing wrong but still go to atue zone.......good luck ............lonewolf

get a piece of string or yarn and measure the red wire with the string.

The battery might be 135.00
But the cable is like .97 per foot.
Then just get the correct ends and crimp them on the ends.

Swap them out and your all set.

There is usually a block or strap that holds the battery in place.
