The problem is, this is a 6 cylinder 2.5L pain in the butt engine. It looks like the alternator is tucked under the front (well, side) of the engine near the front of the car. I am able to remove the top bolt, but the bottom bolt is right up next to another pully.

try this

go to:

http://www.marshallpl.org

this takes you to a page of useful links. click on the link titled auto repair reference center. choose your vehicle and year.

this will bring up a list of auto manuals for your vehicle.

it also gives several wiring diagrams for most vehicles. most of the wiring diagrams are in PDF form and you can either download them for use at your convenience or you can print them. you can also print almost every single page on their site.

Autozone has online guides for R and R of certain items---try this page, go to the section for the 2.5 engine.

Otherwise, they carry manuals you can buy for doing repairs like Chilton or Haynes---around 20.00.

If you go to an auto parts store, they sell manuals on how to fix everything for your make, model, and year of truck. I bought one for my 93 Chevy pickup and it has pictures and step by step instructions on how to fix and replace everthing, even cosmetic work.

Also, your local library has Chiltons and Motors manuals with the procedures.
