I had to take off the carbs, I put them back on. I had sprayed carb cleaner into the carbs but didn't disassemble them. The idle mixture screw got completely thrown out of its normal setting. I started the engine, got white smoke. I shut off engine, white smoke still poured out one of the exhaust pipes for about 5 minutes. What burned? Was it carb cleaner? Was it a very VERY rich fuel mixture that burned heavy smoke? Thanks.

For the past month there were often times when I would put the key into the ignition and turn it, it would take a few seconds to start. Other times it would start right away. Today it won’t start at all. When I put the key in and turn it makes a whistling type of sound. The lights come on so my guess is that it is not the battery. What else could it be?

1986 RS Camaro? We have checked and replace just about everything, First the converter would glow red, so we put a new one on it, still after a few mins it would start to glow red, so we check the plugs, drivers side are perfect, passenger side were covered in sut. So we changed the computer, did nothing, check the vacuum they were fine, the compression was good, and the gas pressure was normal. What's wrong with it?

I am painting a 97 cavalier with 150K miles so I don't want to pay for a "showroom" paint job. It is just a spare car not worth much, but still runs good and want to keep it till the "wheels fall off". Have u heard anything about Maaco or Earl Schier??? We want to spend 250-600$. Both places have paint jobs in this range.

okay, i bought an 04 toyota corolla, it has its 50K miles on it and ive been driving it now for about 5 days. yesterday when i got off from work, the car WOULD NOT turn on. i have no idea why. it had the malfunction indicator lamp icon turned on and the engine oil icon on, and then after 2 more tries, it turned on. and last night it wouldnt turn on again. and the second try it wouldnt even make a noise. im telling my father this and he says "you have to pump some gas" (press the accelerator) while turning it on. i believe i shouldnt!!!! for the past days ive NEVER had to do that, so why now? and my car isnt old? so what the hell?? help!! is it the engine? it needs an oil change or what the hell????

I do a lot of metal cutting (Steel and Aluminum), and use a lot of blades. I use the Milwaukee 6" x 3/4" x 14 TPI or 18 TPI. I've also tried the "Torch" blades. Cheap blades seem worthless.

Are there better blades?

Are there cheaper sources for Sawzall blades?

I bought a Saturn at the end of June from a used car dealership that my family has bought 2 cars from before. He pretty much sold me lemon because my family trusted him tot give us something good like he has before. A saturn is not a bad car but the one got is. I've had it's oil changed, it's been in the shop for work, and when I washed it, all these marks and things showed up on the hood and such. Also the service engine light is on and I took to the shop and they didn't know what was wrong. I'm going to have it looked at by another shop Friday. Anyways I HATE THIS CAR and I want something new (different). I still owe a little less $5,000 on it but I want to trade it in for something that reliable. I drive almost 40 miles to college and I need something that will crank up. How do I go about trading it and having the dealer maybe pay it off and give me something different.

My truck is overheating, obviously. Idling, it doesn't over heat or if it does, very slowly unless I turn on the a/c and give it some gas.

I replaced the heater core last year..and no signs (antifreeze on passenger floor, etc) that it's bad again. I replaced the thermostat 2 days ago. The water pump is circulating o.k....

So what in the WORLD is going on?
My brother told me that there's probably air in the radiator somewhere. He said to fill it with antifreeze slowly..and it'll seem like I'm putting alot in there but to keep doing it to get the air out.

It DOES gurgle when it over heats. And then he said to let it overheat a time or two and it should be fine, but nothing's working and the radiator and hoses aren't leaking.

What in the WORLD is going on?

I would like to ask u guys owning euro cars such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, Maserati, Porsche. Would you have your cars repaired/maintained by independent auto shops? or rather have it checked by their own companies? Or is it ok for you guys to go for independent auto shops as long as it provides quality services and more affordable cost? Thanks guys!

My 8 year old subaru 96000 miles needs a quart of oil every 1000-1500 miles. No gray or white smoke. No oil on the ground. No problems with antifreeze levels. highway driving makes the problem worse. What is wrong and what can I do for it? Will a thicker oil help? I use high mileage 10-30 oil already.

The back-up lights on my 2005 Chevy Cobalt don't work. I've checked the bulbs and the fuses and both are fine. All the other tail lights work just fine and the wiring for all the tail lights is clustered together at the light. Any ideas?
