Recently, the driver's seat belt broke in my 1995 Saab 900S, and yesterday the passenger side airbag went off while I was driving down a newly paved road @ 40 mph. I think these are product liability issues, not insurance or warranty issues. Seat belts mechanisms in a car like that are not supposed to just break, and certainly there is no excuse for an airbag spontaneously going off while driving, endangering my life.

Am I right? Do I have a case for them to fix these things without charging me?

Well just adding to what others said... If there is a recall then yes it would be for free but if not then you have to pay for it out of pocket. I would look for a reliable outside shop before I would go to a dealer. Dealers likes to charge way more than anyone else. However some $$$ cars will sometimes if you make a big enough deal about it will fix it regardless because they stand behind their products.

Your warrenty ran out. It is your problem now. A dealership/shop will fix it...but it will cost you.

The reason why warentees run out is because eventually something will go wrong. In this case, it was your seatbelt and air bag. You probably aren't the first person this has happened to which is why those parts aren't covered anymore.

In my opionion you are right , they are not supposed to break or stop working ..

BUT .... a warrany is designed for certain period of time only where the car is supposed to work perfectly ... and then when the warrany expires they will not fix anything and you are supposed to fix it no matter what it is (airbag , tires , engine etc....)

Only if the two were recalled in the past. Then they would have to fix them at no charge. However, if they were not recalled, and your warranty is up, then you will be responsible to pay.

Unfortunatly, dealer is not responable...

>>>check for any RECALLS matching your current troubles and then see if they are going to cover the cost, parts and labor...

other than that you will have to pay yourself.

CHECK YOUR OWNERS MANUAL FIRST THEN...

CALL THE SERVICE MANAGER AND TALK WITH HIM AND IF YOU DON’T GET ANYWHERE ASK FOR THE AREA ZONE MANAGER, THEN YOU WILL NEED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURE.

THERE ARE SOME VEHICLES THAT DO COVER THESE ITEMS FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.
