No big deal. Yellow light, not red, right? Means they want you to take it in for a checkup and, maybe, an EGR valve.

CEL (Check Engine Light) usually means something is wrong with your emissions (smog). Ya unfortunately unless you know someone that has a diagnostic tool your gonna have to take it in and pay the $80-$120 diagnostic check. But once you find out what the problem is it may be very simple to replace and possibly you could do it yourself, you'd be surprise. Yes you can reset your electronic control module (ECM) by disconnecting the -cable from the battery but the CEL will come back. Also don't turn it into a habit because if you continue to reset it then your going to mess up the electronic control module and then you'll never figure out what the code is for the CEL and the light will remain there and never go away. You'll fry the ECM. Best of Luck!

Try changing the air in your tires.
(Check Engine Light)
There are many components that work together in the engine to maintain optimal engine performance and economy.
A service engine soon, or check engine light indicates that there is a sensor that is reading a condition that is "out of range".
Simply resetting the light does not solve the initial cause of the problem.
Replacing a number of parts trying to troubleshoot the problem in the hopes of getting the light to stay off is a tremendous waste of time and money.
The simplest, and most economical way to alleviate your issue, is to have an engine diagnostic done by a reputable shop to determine what caused the computer to signal you to begin with. Just reading the computer codes may not find the "cause".
That being said, if per-chance you feel the need to reset the light in the hopes that it was a "glitch" of some kind, you could disconnect the negative battery terminal for a couple of minutes to clear the check engine light. (ignition key turned on)

In many modern cars, the service engine light comes on when it's time for an oil change. Look in your owners manual under the oil change, or warning lights sections. Usually it will tell you how to reset the light after an oil change. If this isn't the case, it could be warning you that the engine control computer has detected an error code that needs to be deciphered by a repair facility.

there's no way to guess at it and get it right ,you need to take it and have it scanned and then you,ll have a good idea of what it is,the computer will have the trouble code in it that caused the light to come on,and this should tell you exactly whats causing it to come on,without having it scanned there's no way to know for sure,it could be one of 50 things on it,good luck with it.

it could be 1 of 1800 things.
You need to have the code read via a scan tool.
Goto an Autozone or Aamco and they will read the code for you for free.
once you have the code, it'lll be easier to help diagnose.
it could be something simple as your gas cap is loose, to having an sensor go bad.
