How much do you know about cars? Cause if you know a few things you can do some checks, with the car fully warmed up check the coolant level in the overflow bottle. And when the car is completely cold also check the level in the overflow and radiator. If those are fine, whats your temperature guage saying? Is it in the red range?
Make sure you can feel heat coming from the vents when the car is fully warmed up and you have the heater on.
If everything above is fine then id look inside your rad or in front of it for obstructions. Also a coolant fluid change isnt a bad idea its not that expensive. Lastly it could be your thermostat.

It would be helpful to have more information.
Is it getting hot all the time or just when you stop? Are you loosing water, and where? Is the fan kicking on by the time you get to A on the temp Gage?
Chances are it is the thermostat. It will get hot after you run it for a while weather you are moving or not.
I am driving a van with overheating issues right now, and the weather is causing it to act different from day to day but it only gets hot when stopped. We are going to flush it before we resort to changing the water pump.

??What kind of a shop did you go too?? If it's overheating, really overheating or just the gauge or "Temp. sending Unit" they can find it. Do the few simple checks mentioned and you'll find it. Good Luck!
