My 1998 GMC Jimmy just had some work accomplished and the mechanic noticed that he could not flush the transmission due to the pipe being frozen to the radiator. How can I fix this problem without breaking something and having it cost a fortune?

Thank you!

I just got a new Mustang Shelby GT 2007. I got it 2 days ago. Yesterday it rained and my brakes got all rusty. I think it was brake fluid but I am not sure. I can sort of rub it off with a rag. Are these brown spots rust or just brake fluid or something? Also, it this bad for a new car.

Well i did have it but it aint working and it will cost $1000 to fix. Is it possible to get a cooler for cars that you plug into your cigarette lighter? and when you are driving you can keep it open so the cold air comes out into the car? is that possible? and its not problem to always run it full force while you are driving right, because it runs on your alternator right, and your alternator keeps going forever right??? or should i buy a $100 square air conditioner and plug it into an inverter? and please dont say to roll down the windows, as it doesnt keep you cool enough and is extremely irritating for long periods and you cant hear your music. thanx!!

I have a 1999 Honda Civic EX with 215K miles. I am reasonably good at checking and changing fluids periodically, and the car has lasted this long without any major repairs.

However, no matter whether the car is hot or cold, the coolant resevoir has always been empty. And the radiator has always been full (coolant to the very top when I remove the cap). I thought the resevoir should fill up (slightly) when the engine has been running, because the coolant has expanded... but it never seems to.

Should I be concerned? Thanks for any input.

A friend of mine insists that it is hard on a car's power steering system to turn the front wheels when the car engine is on but the car is stationary. Obviously, twisting the steering wheel back and forth in this situation would be abusive, as would be too much lock-to-lock turning. No, we are talking about turning/straightening the wheels in a parking space, or turning the wheels in order to leave a parking space, but before the car has begun to move. I think the system is robust enough and designed for these applications and that such use does not constitute abuse. FYI - the car in question is a 2004 3-series BMW.

I moved New York state and bought a 99 Buick Century from a dealer (with 1 month warranty) 4 months ago. Recently the check engine light of the car was on, so I went to a repair shop. However, the problem is not fixed after several trials! First time they changed a gas pump neck, a few days later, the light on again. Then they told me the canister and valve has leak and changed that for me. These repairs cost me 600 bucks already, but a few days later, the light is on AGAIN. This time they told me something wrong with my gas pressure sensor and want to charge me ~$180 for that. And they just told me they can't guarantee what will happen in the future. It makes me feel so bad... Could you give me any suggestions? I appreciate it !!!

I am at a loss! I have a 95 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton pick-up. When I bought it from a buddy of mine he told me the abs light stayed on all the time. I decided to bleed the brakes but that didn't fix the problem. Approximately 6 weeks ago the brake light came on and stayed on. I checked the pads and shoes and they are still good. Last night I almost couldn't stop at the red light. Any last things I can check before I take it to the shop?

Yesterday as I was leaving my old apartment my car started kind of funny. When I was trying to leave my new Apt. my car wouldnt start. Eventually it did.. but not very well. It's been doing that since. It sat over night, and when I left for work today I had to give it some gas to get it to start. I also have an anit-theft cd player in my car (2000 Mitsubishi Galant) that stopped working after my car wouldn't start the first time. Now it says Code. Is this because of the starting problem... I don't know anyting about cars... clearly!

Someone stole my passenger side view mirror (glass only). I've called an auto parts store and they said I need to replace the whole mirror casing. Can't I just replace the glass? Do you think they're trying to rip me off because I'm a female? I know Pep Boys sells replacement mirrors. Can I just buy one of those? p.s. Its a powered mirror.

anyone knows what is considered high or low rolling resistance values for a car? I got this data sheet from the dealer after they tested my car... the rear rolling resistance seems out of whack but they are claiming it is normal...

Front Left = 290N Brake Force = 2320N
Front Right = 310N Brake Force = 2140N

Rear Left = 750N Brake Force = 1750N
Rear Right = 930N Brake Force = 1690N

the rear rolling resistance seems too high and have almost a 20% differential...

can anyone help?
