I have a 60 Gallon Oiled vertical compressor(Husky), and I'm having a problem.

Once the tank pressure reaches about 60 psi, there is a horrible loud 'scream' that begins, and only gets worse and louder as the PSI rises.

If I unplug the machine, the sound goes away, and the air pressure holds (means there's no air leaks, right?)

Could this be the electric motor? The Other 'oiled' motor?

Any help would be awesome, thanks

First off, check your belts and the hose(you may have a metal pipe instead) intake fittings. They may need replacing(no, you can't save them if they're worn out) and the tank connection ports may also need cleaned after-wards too. If that's not the problem/s, then check(yeah it'll be a pain in the tukchus too) the compression piston for wear as well as the compression cylinder wall too. If that's not the problem, then I'd check my emergency/drain valves for wear and tear. Lastly, I'd check the electric motor. That involves the brushes, bearings, mounts and anything else that moves in the motor.

No this is not any longer dry and in case you haven't any longer have been given a water seize on the air too line the water will shorten air gadget existence. basically some moisture is condensed by using compression no longer all. The air interior the air tank on the compressor is the same because of the fact the air you're respiratory basically compressed to a rigidity above atmospheric rigidity, and it particularly is a tad much less humid yet no longer plenty.

Check your belt tension. It maybe the belt slipping as it builds up air pressure. Usually it can be adjusted by moving the motor.

Reset the leaky safety valve at the correct max pressure. If there is an unloader check it's malfunction. If there is a pressure switch for auto off, it's failure will result in belt slip & noise.
