Sounds like headlight? Tooth paste and lots of circular action. Or new assembles before they are obsolete.

Whatever others may recommend, DON'T buy "Lens Doctor". In the August Consumer Reports, it was reported that their tests showed that Lens Doctor actually made things worse instead of better. Besides that, their order took almost two months to arrive. (CR always buys items for testing on the open market, just like ordinary people would.)

I use Mothers or Blue Coral mag wheel polish,works great .
Also use it on the plastic headlight lenses

most auto parts stores have plastic re-conditioning kits. Its a matter of sanding the plastic and buffing it out and it looks brand new.

two ways one hard the other harder. jewelry roues. it is used to remove scratched from watch lens. the other is cigar ashs and spit. to make a paste. lots of time and elbow grease

they sell a 2 part chemical at auto stores that restore oxidized lenses as far as the scratch you should be able to buff it out if not to deep......good luck
