The converter itself can cost anywhere from $150 to $250, depending on model...the labor itself is the same as for any muffler, about 50 to 75...

Any muffler shop can do it...

plan on spending about $500 for parts and labor. Any mufler ashop or dealer can do it. What year and how many miles do you have there is a federal warranty put on emmisions. I believe it is 5 years and or 60k miles. Check that out first.
check out this site it explains a little better than I can.

if you can work a saw.... and a power drill.. and you have a jack.... or can get the car off the ground about 1 maybe 2 feet...

I would go buy one from auto zone..... for like $50.00.. with a life time warranty on it... then get yourself... 2.. clamps and do the work yourself...

or goto Meineke or midas they do free est...

BUT... converter generally only go bad... IF you hit them real hard.... or your car is not running right.. so ger a tune-up with that converter

Midas will do it for $200 or so. Just don't let them tell you that you should get an OEM cat. A generic should work just fine.
