I read that I have to use a flywheel lock, which store carries them? how do I stop the flywheel from turning?

Help! My car is possessed! I have been having ongoing problems with this car. It started with the SECURTY, BATTERY PIC, AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON lights coming on. They seem to disappear after the car is turned off and restarted for a short time. Since this started, the possessed car has taken over - my dome light sometimes continually blinks on and off while the chimes go off - once the whole dashboard went dead along with the radio - another time the door locks kept locking and unlocking - my trunk lock engages and disengages continually even when the car is turned off! Once the car would not start at all, but did with a jump. The car has 130,000 miles, is paid off (of course). I don't want to put alot of money into it, but don't want another car payment.

Can anyone tell me what I might be dealing with?

OK i have a 91 350sdl mercedes. I like it a lot, but the problem is that when I am at school, the car usually just sits parked, and only gets run when I have to drive home or on a road trip or something. It is also fairly cold here, usualy 15-25 at night, so I am worried about the battery losing charge. Ive heard about solar panel battery chargers? What is this and how much does it cost / is it hard to install?

For now I am going to try letting the engine idle every few days for a little bit to at least charge the battery a little bit.

Are there any other maintenance issues I should be aware of to increase the life of my battery and make sure nothing bad happens?

Took the car to the mechanic for alignment, he did the alignment and told me that problem was because one of my front wheel was slightly bent, and should be replaced or repaired. Should I take it on a long trip on the highway?

When I press on the gas pedal the engine rev's like usual however my car doesn't accelerate as much as it should and stalled at idle a few times. This happened out of nowhere. The Catalytic Converter isn't plugged but the popping noise might suggest a leak in the exhaust. Wondering what else it could be?

A couple of weeks ago, my brother was driving my car & somehow ran into chicken wire (?!) & it caught under the hood & scrape paint off the car, on the corner edge of the hood. Upon inspection, it wasn't just paint missing, he took CHUNKS of paint out along the edge. You can see the grey body frame (the paint is dark blue) I want to get this repainted, if it won't cost too much.

I am wondering, can a professional fill out empty spots of paint, or do they have to repaint the whole hood, even though the paint missing is only on the corner of the hood??? It goes along for about 4-5 inches along the side of the hood

P.S. Don't make comment about my brother, he already knows he has to pay for this. :)

I don't think this is normal, but we need more oil every 2 weeks and I know it isn't leaking out. Plus every once in a wile I smell something like burning wax coming through the heater.

Hi i have a 95 toyota, aluminum wheels live in the north the car shakes when i go over 65 mph drives fine below that speed , I have had the tires high speed balanced, checked the tires out from a broken belt ,they seem fine any ideas what may cause the shaking?

I've got a 96 Isuzu rodeo that seems to have electrical problems. First it was the heater, which blew a 20A fuse every time it got really cold overnight. Replacing the fuse worked but now the heater/AC only blows at full blast, not any of the lower levels. Is the heater motor going? Is it the heater itself?
Now the front windshield wipers are not turning on. I can't find a fuse for the wipers so I don't know if it blew too, but I'm worried that this new problem is related to the heating problem. If fuses keep burning out, what should I do to fix it? Is it the motors on the individual parts or the battery or what?

is it true that to repair a gearbox after 97,000 miles , futher problems would be anticipated? have been told it is a bad idea to put new parts next to old - they are not compatible,

ok i have a 93 toyota camry xle with a v6 engine in it. over the past month it had been occasionally hesitating, power surging, and having a low idle but not enough to actually kill the car. anyways we checked the spark plugs and wires they are fine, cap and rotor is fine, we cleaned the throttle body with that spray cleaner stuff, and my husband did the best he could at doing a general lookover at the car. anyways we had a similar problem last year so we changed the fuel filter which was beyond dirty and it fixed the problem immediatly. so we finally changed it again and it seemed to help the problem. we went almost a week without anything , then just today we were pulling out of a parking spot and as we started to go forward and accelorate the car once again started power surging a little. does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? also yesterday while filling up the gas tank we put in some octane booster to help clean the fuel lines could that have caused it?

Hey ya'll. I'm having a huge problem with a 2001 Ford Escape (80k miles) here at the shop and I cannot figure out what's wrong. I was hoping someone here can maybe shed some light on this. The problem is that the Catalytic Converter is getting cherry red. The longer the car runs, the more red it gets. We've checked the compression, fuel pressure and mass air flow sensor and they were all good. We've also replaced 6 plugs, 6 injectors, 02 sensors, the rear cat and one front cat.

We think it might be dumping gas because the smell of gas is really strong while the truck runs, but we can't figure out why or if that's even the problem. If anyone is able to shed some light on this problem I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Can I put 195/75/14's on my 2000 Neon? It came with 185/65/14. This car has NO clearance and bottoms out all the time. I would like to eliminate this prob with taller tires.

some (very rude word here) has chucked nail varnish all over my car? does anyone know what will remove it without damaging the paint work. the cars silver and the varnish is pink so it's pretty obvious! PLEASE HELP!
