well that depends on what your calling freeze. as in freeze with ice in the radiator or motor. or freeze as in engine ceased/froze up. the ice thing would be caused by insufficient amount of coolant mixture in your radiator/engine. if the mixture isn't set for a certian temp below freezing and it gets to that level the antifreeze will become frozen inside the motor. kinda like if you take an ice cube try and put it in the freezer. after a few hours it freezes. if you just put it in the fridge it wont freeze. if you mean engine froze up wont do nothing. ceased solid it could be from overheating or just plain running out of oil. if it has no lubrication between the moving parts it causes too much friction causing metal to meld together. Could also be bent piston rods, broken crank shaft, broken cam and in some cases a completly distroyed transmission converter or transmission. hope this helps you out.

It probably has spun a bearing which has ruined the crankshaft and a couple of rods. It can be caused by high rpms or lack of oil. If it froze from cold weather, the block is most likely cracked. Major job and expense either way. Time for a new engine.

Water gets into the cylinders through carburator, or just moisture
from sitting for 5 years or longer. Pistons rust themselves to
the the cylinder walls, It only takes one or two pistons to lock
up the motor.

You need to be more specific. There are many things from a broke cam to thrown rod. What happend before it froze?

Lack of oil usually; sometimes lack of coolant
