When I press on the gas pedal the engine rev's like usual however my car doesn't accelerate as much as it should and stalled at idle a few times. This happened out of nowhere. The Catalytic Converter isn't plugged but the popping noise might suggest a leak in the exhaust. Wondering what else it could be?

So, an update for anyone who might be going through this as well. Mechanic said the timing chain slipped and threw my timing off. Right now the car is in the shop putting a new chain on it.

Sounds like you may have a clogged fuel injection, you can buy a fuel injector cleaner, try giving it a tune up as well the engine may not be getting enough air or fuel mixture. Popping or backfiring means that your spark plugs need to be changed, (they are misfiring) and the timing may be off. A 100,000 mile tune up would help a lot. Start with the simple fixes and then move up, sometime the simplest thing will fix it.
