Help! My car is possessed! I have been having ongoing problems with this car. It started with the SECURTY, BATTERY PIC, AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON lights coming on. They seem to disappear after the car is turned off and restarted for a short time. Since this started, the possessed car has taken over - my dome light sometimes continually blinks on and off while the chimes go off - once the whole dashboard went dead along with the radio - another time the door locks kept locking and unlocking - my trunk lock engages and disengages continually even when the car is turned off! Once the car would not start at all, but did with a jump. The car has 130,000 miles, is paid off (of course). I don't want to put alot of money into it, but don't want another car payment.
Can anyone tell me what I might be dealing with?

Seems to me the earthing or grounding from the negative side of the battery to the car body is malfunctioning.
Make sure the grounding wires and cables are in good condition and snug.

Sounds like you need to find a decent, inexpensive mechanic who is skilled in the wiring or cars. Honestly, its probably something simple. If you , or a previous owner had the security system installed - they probably have a wire crossed or its grounding out somewhere.
