toyota camry power surging??? why???? help! please?

Question

ok i have a 93 toyota camry xle with a v6 engine in it. over the past month it had been occasionally hesitating, power surging, and having a low idle but not enough to actually kill the car. anyways we checked the spark plugs and wires they are fine, cap and rotor is fine, we cleaned the throttle body with that spray cleaner stuff, and my husband did the best he could at doing a general lookover at the car. anyways we had a similar problem last year so we changed the fuel filter which was beyond dirty and it fixed the problem immediatly. so we finally changed it again and it seemed to help the problem. we went almost a week without anything , then just today we were pulling out of a parking spot and as we started to go forward and accelorate the car once again started power surging a little. does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? also yesterday while filling up the gas tank we put in some octane booster to help clean the fuel lines could that have caused it?

Check for vacuum leaks, look closely at the point they hook into components for cracks. Also check the large pipe going from air filter box to the throttle body for cracks or splits (you can shift it around while idling to see if it causes it to idle up or down). It can also be your idle air control (IAC), it sends a signal to the computer to control idle. You can also have your fuel pump pressure checked, they can sometimes act up when hot.
Did this last filter look clogged up? If so are you in a habit of running your tank right down, not a good practice as a car this age will have a lot of crud at the bottom of tank.
