My car windshield looks like it has dust particals all over it. I can barely see out it when the sun shines in...I have tried using windex w/ paper towels on the inside & out and it does not work...you can run your finger across it and there will be no streek. It's like the dust is in between two sheets of glass. Please help me I am going to end up wrecking when the sun is bright b/c it blinds me from seeing out of my dirty windshield.

Sounds like you have some pitting due to a wind storm or high winds or just an old windsheld that has a lot of dusty road travel.. you can try a polishing compound in a corner to see if that gets you results you want. Otherwise you might get the insurance to get a new windshield due to it obsrtucting the view. You can also go by a glass shop they will help in finding a correction to the problem.

It's not dirty - it's pitted from sand and dust.

I've heard of shops that will do windshield resurfacing using a combination of polishing and sealing but have never tried it.

You can try to get a relatively new windshield from a junkyard and replace it that way or just go to s hop and have the windshield replaced.

I can't prove it, but I think that when I've applied Rain-X to my windshield it somewhat cut down on that pitted haze.

the windshield is spent. it's badly pitted. the only way to get rid of the pits is a new windshield. i just had one replaced, and it's seriously like a night and day difference.
