car will start and run but when you give it gas it will not rev up in fact it will sometimes try to quit, also when you put it in drive it will not go anywhere and sometimes quits

the very first thing I would do is change the fuel filter. a plugged filter will normally allow enough fuel thru to idle but not enough to run above idle or under power. The next step would be based on whether this is a gas or diesal engine.

I've had this problem before, but with a Toyota Camrey. Obviously, you need to take it to a mechanic. Ask them to check your spark plugs, fuel line, and fuel injector. Also, have them make sure that the proper gasoline was put into the vehicle. I once watched my friend pump 87 (unleaded gasoline) into her vehicle, however, when they filled that tank at the gas station, they put diesel in. An unleaded fuel car won't run long on diesel fuel. Totally the gas station's fault. If that is the case, contact your states department of check and balances, they deal with that kind of issue. The work on her car, the cost of the gas, and the hotel we had to stay in for the night was paid for by the state due to the incompetence of employees.
