I have a 1.8 1994 Renault Laguna ( petrol); the co2 emissions are high, please help me with some idea’s of what problems could be, and some advice on things to check or adjust would be appreciated.

try changing the engine oil. air filter and spark plugs. mot garages make a nominal charge to ajust the carberation settings on their machines.

The CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions are related to the fuel consumption.

Your problem is more likely to be the CO (carbon monoxide) emissions - if these are too high your car will fail the MOT.
Get the car properly serviced - new plugs, new air filter element, and a proper electronic diagnostics test by a reputable garage.
