My mechanic recommended this service and I don't know if it is likely to extend the life of the transmission or not.

I have a 1994 Mitsubishi Diamante, Im planning to travel with it about 300 miles. I have an oil leak from my gasket, and i have to add about quarter oil tank every week... Do you think its safe to drive with it 300 miles non stop, or will it damage my vehicle, or worst stop in the middle of the trip.

My van has been acting up periodically, it will stall out when I take my foot off the gas pedal, such as when I am slowing down or stopping, and this is the only time it will stall out, but it doesn't do it all the time, and it will start right back up after it stalls, but I have to keep my foot on the gas in order to shift it into drive to get it to get going, once it is going down the road it is fine, but when I slow down or stop it does it again... what do you think?

I have a van that has been stalling out occassionally and I took it into the mechanic last week and they had no problems with it so they could not fix it, it ran good for a couple of days and then started stalling out again, so I am taking it back tomarrow and they are going to look at it again, what if it doesn't act up... should i tell them to keep it and keep driving it until it does act up again or should i take it back and drive it myself and wait for it to act up again, which is usually the most inconvenient times..., and do mechanics charge you to drive your vehicle to see what is wrong with it?

My mechanic attached a paper onto my invoice from when I had the tires rotated, indicating that the rear brakes were at 50%. The rating system for the brakes' performance was in green, yellow or red; mine were in the yellow range. What should this mean to me? Is a brake inspection something I should ask to be done, or do I wait and why?

My wife and I have a 1993 Oldsmobile Delta 88. The car drives fine, for the most part, but for the past year, about once a month, the car will not start up. You can hear the engine starting, but it won't turn over and finally start. Eventually (within 5 - 10 minutes of trying) one of the attempts succeeds and the engine does turn over. Additionally, about 3 of the past 12 -15 times total that this has occurred, we've been driving the car when it's died. Then, upon trying to start the car back up, we've had the preceeding problem.

Up til now it's just been annoying, but it's done it about 3 times in the past week and a half.

All thoughts are very appreciated! Thank you!

The brakes are a little spongy, I took it to Pepboys and one of their techs said that it wasn't the cylinder, another tech said it was. I just got new brakes put on and a brake fluid flush was done. At first they said it was air in the brake lines, now it is the cylinder. Is there anything I can do or look at to tell for myself?

My 89 honda civic wont start. It cranks but wont catch. the battery has been messing up, but I think that was just a bad connection so I cleaned it. We changed the oil yesterday. Would those two things be the problem.

Ran fine this am but when leaving work it would not upshift right. It would run up to about 4000-5000rpm then shift hard and then started to miss at 4000rpm on the drive home (interstate). When trying to pass it would downshift but not go. Checked all fluids, belts, and just filled up (at my work) and nothing noticeable. We have noticed a coolant smell for the past few weeks but there is no puddle under the car and the level seems fine. The coolant though is rusty colored but full. Car has 90,000 miles but never had a problem with it prior. Usually has plenty of get up and go but not now.

Drive a 98 Z71 4 x 4 truck. Have been going round and round about a "wobble" with the steering wheel at certain times, speeds, etc. Have had the tires rotated, balanced, front end aligned, u joints replaced, idler arm replaced....still occasional problem. Had friend check it out and said it is a tire! Tires are less than 2 years old. Now for the questions: do I replace all 4 tires or just the one?

Why can't shops be trusted? Been to 2 or 3 for help (widow and this was my husband's truck) and just get the run around. Anyone here have suggestions?

Thanks!
