If other answers don't work you can always try disconnecting the battery fro 5 minutes. Usually this resets the internal computer and the light as well. If it comes back on you have a problem. Autozone checks the lights for free.

When the SES light is on theres something wrong with your car. You have some DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). A majority of the time you can clear the codes with a scanner and the light will go off, but it will turn back on because the problem wasn't fixed. And some codes can't be cleared until the problem is fixed. I would have a technician (and don't call them mechanics, they hate that) scan it and he could tell you where the problem is coming from. But check your gas cap and make sure its on there properly. If you gas cap is loose that can set the light. But there is no way to reset the light unless you have a scanner

The "provider Engine quickly" easy is merely a REMINDER that a cautioned ordinary upkeep is mandatory. once you get your engine serviced, ask the mechanic to reset the easy for you or look on your vendors instruction manual for the reset sequence. some GM's are merely turn the ignition to on, no longer started out, press the accelerator pedal thrice in 5 seconds, and the easy will reset. If it rather is the "examine Engine" easy, some codes will sparkling after the undertaking is fixed and the computing gadget has long handed by using a rigidity cycle. you ought to use a test gadget to erase the codes to prepare this easy off, yet whilst the undertaking nonetheless exists, it is going to turn back on.
