If you want to do a radiator drain and fill, which is nice and easy and many times alleviates the need for bleeding the air from the system, do it once a year. This is a 15 minute job.

If you'd rather, you can spend an hour every 2 to 3 years and do a complete flush. Drain the radiator, drain the block by removing the lower radiator hose or by warming the engine and keeping the rad topped off with fresh water, and doing cycled flushes like that. Gotta be sure you don't let the engine overheat, and when you do the final fill with coolant, you need to calculate how much pure water is stuck in the engine block so you get the proper 50/50 balance over all. Then you must bleed the system thoroughly.

If you want to do option A - since you've waited this long, do it once, drive a week, repeat. Then do it yearly.

Some vehicles say you can drive with the same coolant until about 100,000 miles...

However I change my coolant out fresh every year
and always check for leaks and fluid level.

You might just want to do it before SUMMER times is on us... make sure to keep note of the mileage when you do this. and chose at what new mileage you want to do this flush again.

> check your owners manual, it should tell you exactly when to do this maintenance.

particular, it particularly is common, it does an analogous in my wifes 2001 Beetle. The temp shows a blue water sign..... then collectively as the vehicle is warmed up it is going out. If the vehicle overheats it comes shrink lower back on pink.

I always change my coolant and thermastat every year, right before summer. Make sure you check all your radiator hoses, this is a good time to replace any if you need to.

Annually.
If you don't do it regularly, the coolant breaks down into chemical compounds that will be corrosive.
