Could be brakes area, or a tire or tie-arm. Also possible your universal joints are bad.

Yes it's probably warped brake rotors. It can happen for a number of reasons. There are two ways to replace them. The cheap way and the right way. The cheap way is to have them "turned". This means that they put the rotors on a sort of lathe and shave off the outer layer of the brake rotors to make them flat again. THis is cheap and easy, however you are doing two things wrong when you have this done. One is that you are making the rotors thinner. This decreases thier ability to absorb heat as you are brakeing, there is just less material there to do it. That makes it easier for your brakes to over heat if you have to stop quickly on the highway a few times in a row.
The other problem is that the rotors have now been weakened by the warping and turning process and it's likely that in time they will just become warped again. Probably in 6 months to a year.

The best thing to do is to replace the rotors with new ones. It will cost more but it avoids all of those other problems. In my opinion, your brakes are something you just don't take shortcuts with. Spend the money on new rotors, it's worth it.

Warped front rotors this can happen if you use your brakes enough to get the rotors hot and then drive through cool water to where it cools the rotor to fast it makes the rotor warp so when you apply the brakes your feeling the the front end shake because of the uneven surface of the rotor. You might be able to have the rotors resurfaced at a machine shop.

Sounds like you need to replace your front brakes, that is, if it only shakes when you apply the brakes. Do they also squeak at all? How long has it been since you replaced your brakes? A good rule of thumb is: if you can't remember the last time something was repaired/replaced, it's a good idea to have it checked out every few months. Depending upon your driving habits, front brakes usually last a couple of years under normal driving conditions.

Could be warped or cracked rotors. Does it get worse the more you break. If you stop every block versus once every 5 miles

Probably bad ball joints. Take it to a good front end shop and get it checked out.
