Nope! Here's an example: Octane boosters supposedly raise the octane level of your fuel by 5 to 8 points. So you think your going from 87 to 92 or 95 right? No! Your going from 87 to 87.5 or 87.8

I've read some mechanics recommend not using any kind of additives.

If you are providing the fuel you can provide a cheaper product a the same price.We all ready know that leaded fuel was bad but not as bad for the environment as unleaded,Methanol is good but government wont use it properly because of the oil price and vehicle maintenance thy would lose. I have found that using hi octane fuel with no additives gives me the best mileage no mater if i am in town or on the highway, Highway dose give better miles tho.

Only if you are driving a high performance car that requires a higher octane rating than what you can get at your local pumps. In such a case you can use an octane booster additive. Otherwise, they're a waste of money.

i put some fuel injector cleaner in my car and a week to the day i was putting a 200 dollar fuel pump in my car if you ask me there is no benifits to putting anything but gas in your car
