I have just bought a bike which I taxed but which has some serious problems and therefore is going back to the shop from whence it came. I have my eye on another bike. Can I change my existing tax disc or do I need to apply for a refund for this one and then tax the new bike?

I had a truck pull in front of me on the morning of Jan.1, 07. Started my year out great. it totaled my van. I had a '94 GMC Safari. It did have high milage, nearly 190,000 miles. BUT, it was a one owner vehicle that I had bought less than 10 months ago. It had been maintained it's entire life, and was still a very strong motor. Liberty Mutual is offering me almost $1,000 less than the cheapest same model that I can find. That also includes the Chevy Astro, which is just a name away from being the same.I would have accepted $500 less, MAYBE. But by the time I pay taxes and all that bull, I am getting really financially taken. Also what about any pain and suffering, I didn't see a doctor, but I felt pain, and I'm STILL suffering? I am not out to steal a $1000 from some poor conglomerate corp; But, how can I get what I deserve? What happens if we cannot agree on a price? will this go before a judge, or are the big guys covered there too??

I have a '99 lincoln navigator which was stolen and recovered. The insurance company is making it a salvage vehicle due to the repairable damage being 70% greater than the worth of the vehicle. They say sellable salvage price is $2130. I'd like confirmation on that price and find out if I can claim it for less. The insurance company is only paying the vehicle off and leaving me with nothing extra even to purchace another vehicle. So basically I am ending up with nothing. They also say blue book is not used by insurance companies to place a value on a vehicle so actually I owe more to the bank than the vehicle is worth.

I was 17mph over the limit and the penalty is about 100 dollars.
If I go to court and pay more I can get points off right?
But if I just pay for the ticket and not go to court I would get points right?
How much is my insurance gonna go up???
If I go to court to get points off how much would I have to pay?
What is the due date for the ticket? is it the court date?? because the court date is thursday, if it is the court date, I would have to pay like tomorrow.

How much can I expect car insurance to cost? I am taking drivers ed soon (which I have heard lowers the insurance price) and I also get pretty good grades (which I also hear lowers the insurance price). I would be driving a used car. Any ideas on how much insurance would cost me?

My dad has a car that is 4 years old, it is a subaru outback, with 200,000+miles on it (not a typo, he drives it all over the eastern coast). Now would the subarus insurance cost(total) be lower than if i bought my own used car?

I hit a cow one night at 60 mph. The issue of fault on the ranchers part was never in question and the rancher was in agreement about it being his fault. Ultimately, their insurance company offered me a settlement in which I did not agree with in the beginning. A week later they called back and gave me another settlement offer in which I did accept. I received the check and it is not what the agent quoted me so I called him and he told me that the quote he gave me was for the vehicle, rental replacement vehicle, tow fee, and some other fee. I did not have to pay a tow fee. Basically, he included it in my final payout but did not break it down and tell me that it was being included. I had to go get another vehicle so I let them know that as soon as I got the insurance check I would bring it in to them for the down payment on it. So ultimately I got 500 less than what he quoted me on the phone. What I am wanting to know is if I cash this check does that mean that I'm in compliance?

I recieved my first ticket ever yesterday (I've had my lisence for over six years) and I was super bummed, because it was due to expired inspection stickers (2 months old) on my father's vehicle I was borrowing.(Yes, I am insured on this vehicle). I am more than willing to pay the $50.00 ticket - I understand it is the law; however, I am extremely nervous of the two points I will get on my perfect driving record. I was told by a friend that there is a way to pay the fine, but waive the points and avoid the insurance surcharge. I am on a very fixed income and I'm worried about this. Has anyone heard of this "waiving of the points"? Thank you in advance!!!

My friend had a car accident on I-95, the other guy got the ticket, and my friend has whiplash. How hard is it to get anything out of the other driver who cause the accident. Should she get a car accident lawyer to represent her, or just see what the insurance company offers them? And who would a good car accident lawyer be, in South Florida?

but neither insurance company has even gotten a copy of the police report yet. the other drivers' said it was my fault based on her lies and they are refusing to pay damages. mine says they have to send out a check in 2 days and I have to give them the name of a body shop to make the check out to. I'm afraid if I accept a check from my ins. then it will be on my policy as my fault. besides that I have a $1000 deductable that they aren't giving me for repairs that I can't afford to put in now. I don't want to take it to get fixed until I have the whole amount for repairs. How do I get them to have the other company pay to fix it - they called and wanted me to send them a copy of the police report, but I know the other lady should send it, but she doesn't want to because she is lying. I sent a copy to mine, but they say they haven't got it even after sending it twice and verifying the number.
