You need to go to the DPS office to get your permit, which cost I think about 10$. Then after a couple of months you get ur driver license.

First of all, what you need to do is pass a written exam. You can go to http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/dl.htm
to do this. You can use this site to study for the written exam prior to taking it. If you wear glasses, make sure to bring them, because you need to pass a vision test (including colors). You will need a car to take the driving portion of the test also. Make sure you get plenty of practice before you go. If you are over 18, you will not need to take a course, just the written and driving tests, but if you are younger than 18, you will have to have so many hours of driving.
