I want to sell a number plate that is on my car. Who actually buys them

I bought a car from a dealer yesterday and he is going to have it MOT'd for me. I bought insurance online but the cover note will take 4-5 days to arrive in the post. What shall I do about road tax? I can't apply for it without an insurance cover note.

I don't have anywhere to park the car except for the street in front of my house. I'm scared I may get clamped. Any advice?

I am concerned about the structural damage to my brand new car after someone rear ended it. The cost to repair will be about $10 000 but would prefer the car be replaced as worried about safety with chassis having been bent. The car is only 2 1/2 months old. Do I have a case?

my car was totalled and i am planning to get another one in a few months once it clears my credit. my question is that I have vanity plates and I don't want to give them back cause then 'll loose them and I want to remove the totaled car from my insurance, can I keep the plates without insurance, maybe with an agreement with the DMV??? Any feed back will be appreciated. Thanks!

I only had the car for 12 days brand new. After all the payments are made what happens for me to get a new car? Do I just go and purchase another vehicle or does the insurance company assist me in that?

I need some clever or funny suggestions for a vanity plate. 7 letters or number max. Bonus points for internet references, but I'm willing to give 10 points to whoever makes the best plate, internet reference or not.

So far, I like:

VNT PL8
LUV4DRW (my boyfriend's name is Drew)
KITTAY
O RLY (but taken in my state, doh!)
OMG LOL
8008135 (boobies in leet, but they might catch that as offensive)

In general, your suggestions shouldn't be dirty, racist, or offensive to people with delicate sensibilities (unless your suggestions might not be noticed with a good explanation)

I will not vote for any racist plates.

I'm 27, a postdoc fellow working in UMD not a US citizen. Being a newcomer to Maryland and having no relatives, no close friends, who can help me as a driving supervisor, I find a big if not unovercomable obstacle towards having a driving license. Please let me know if there is any service providing driving supervision for the learner's permit period? I tried with search engines but couldn't find any. Thank you very much for any answer.

Hi,

What should I do if I found out my friend rented my car to others without my acknowledgement? I rented my car to her and she in turn rented out to a third party for her own profits. What can of offence is she committing? Can I sue her for this?

Last night I was involved in a very severe accident. I hit the back of the other car while either he was stopped in the fast line or was going by 10 mi/hr. I was going 65mi/hr and I dont think I had any chance for any maneuver. When CHP arrived they suspected other cars driver and I guess they were doing DUI test on him.
finally they decided to arrest him but he hit both officers and tried to escape and finally got arrested.
my question is even though I hit him from the back do I have any chance for not being at fault?
if you are saying that I am at fault how much is that gonna influence my insurance is it going to be doubled ?

Someone mentioned a program called Polk that checks the VIN#'s on all kinds of vehicles.

I'm trying to find out if someone were to go to a junkyard and get a VIN# on a car, would they get caught? Would it be traced back that the car is in the junkyard?

Anyone know about the state of Connecticut?

My wife and I just had an accident in a parking lot in which we backed into another car that had almost completely backed out already. No one was hurt, but the damage caused by our car is between $1,000 and $1,500. We will not have the damage to our car repaired. This accident is our fault; however, both of us have had a completely perfect driving record up until now. We just want to know how much this accident is going to make our insurance go up.

My CA I.D. expires in about four months and I have some questions.

1. What, if anything, do I need to bring?
2. What form do I fill out?
3. What window do I go to when I've completed the form?

I just don't remember and your help would be greatly appreiciated. Thanks.
