Your secretary of state office provides driving school books for free. Study and take the written test. Next, you get your permit (permission to learn how to drive). Next step you MUST drive a car and practice plenty of times so that you can pass the driving test. Now you have your driving license. Your driver's license is your best ID and it will earn good driving record as well.

Do the whole thing step by step. Driving is a necessity for work and etc....

I understand you are wanting the driver's education portion, in order to pass the written test to obtain your learner's permit. Not the physical driver's training (behind-the-wheel).

I recommend Trafficschool.com, one of their components is DriversEdDirect.com.

I have used their services for completing a traffic school course after receiving a traffic ticket. They were easy to use online, and very thorough in their information. I was very impressed at their efficiency and how easy it was to get my certificate of completion. I will probably use them for my teenage son to get his learner's permit in the very near future. They have a winter special going on right now for the California course, and it is just $69 for the online course. I am not affiliated with them in any way, I was just very impressed by their program.

Learning to drive is serious business, and I applaud you for not wanting to make a social activity of it. And, if I may impress one bit of unsolicited driving advice to you - - please always remember ICKY! Impatience Can Kill You! Please never take unnecessary chances on the road, for all our sakes. Take care!

You can not learn to drive a car without actually driving one. That is the point of drivers training.

I think it's better to take an actual drivers education.

Sounds like you need a drivers manual from the D.M.V.
